Literary allusions aside, in this episode, Caio walks us through the concept of Bidirectional Naming, and its implications for research and practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In this conversation, we use his 2016 paper, <a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC6381345\/\">Common and Intraverbal Bidirectional Naming<\/a>, from the Analysis of Verbal Behavior, as a springboard for this discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">One of the things that I took away from this conversation is to be more careful using terms like tacting, naming, and labeling interchangeably. In this podcast, you'll learn why these distinctions are important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">We also talk about why terms like <em>receptive<\/em>&nbsp;and <em>expressive<\/em>&nbsp;labeling aren't conceptually systematic, and should be avoided in the Behavior Analytic literature.
