The 2021 VABA panel featured Drs. <a href=\"https:\/\/behavioralobservations.com\/black-women-and-barriers-to-leadership-in-aba-session-151-with-nasiah-cirincione-ulezi\/\">Nasiah Cirincione-Ulezi<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cehd.gmu.edu\/people\/faculty\/choffner\">Christine Barthold<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abainternational.org\/constituents\/bios\/joelayng.aspx\">T.V. Joe Layng<\/a>. In our chat, we fielded questions from VABA attendees, which occasioned discussion of some of the following topics:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/episode\/1lHdyowHpaliFfB2jg2RhV\" width=\"100%\" height=\"232\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>How to deal with Imposter Syndrome.<\/li><li>Subtle biases in the workplace.<\/li><li>Advice the panelists would give to their early-career selves.<\/li><li>Reading literatures outside of Behavior Analysis.<\/li><li>Ecological Systems Theory and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/223959826_Contingencies_and_Metacontingencies_Toward_a_Synthesis_of_Behavior_Analysis_and_Cultural_Materialism\">Meta-Contingencies<\/a>.<\/li><li>How perspective taking in married couples is overrated.<\/li><li>The value of mentoring (including some exceptional mentee duties Joe performed as a graduate student... not to be missed, and gives new meaning to the phrase, \"and other duties as assigned\"). <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Embed Player\" src=\"\/\/play.libsyn.com\/embed\/episode\/id\/20752556\/height\/200\/theme\/modern\/size\/large\/thumbnail\/yes\/custom-color\/444341\/time-start\/00:00:00\/download\/no\/hide-show\/no\/direction\/backward\/hide-playlist\/no\/hide-subscribe\/no\/hide-share\/no\" height=\"200\" width=\"100%\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" oallowfullscreen=\"true\" msallowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border: none;\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n<p>I should note at the outset that we had both connection issues and some general unevenness in the audio feed.
