For example, not too far from my home, a school district in Vermont <a href=\"https:\/\/vtdigger.org\/2021\/11\/23\/hartford-schools-may-alter-schedule-due-to-covid-challenges\/\">recently proposed<\/a> to shorten the school week in order to provide teachers with extra time to prepare for, and perhaps recover from, challenging behaviors in the classroom setting. <\/p>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/episode\/21xemy8ISOwBUDiE0A1c3R?utm_source=generator&amp;theme=0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" width=\"100%\" height=\"232\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n<p>As we've discussed many times before on this podcast, clearly there is a role for Behavior Analysis in these settings. And it is with that in mind that I was excited to chat with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/paul-paulie-gavoni-ed-d-bcba-60600843\/\">Dr. Paulie Gavoni<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/anikacosta\/\">Anika Costa<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/andrew-houvouras-28098536\/\">Andrew Houvouras<\/a> about the book that they recently published with co-authors Frank Krukauskas and Eric Gormley. It's called \"<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3J8raPR\">Quick Responses for Reducing Misbehavior and Suspensions: A behavioral toolbox for classroom and school leaders<\/a>.\"<\/p>\n\n\n<p><iframe allow=\"autoplay *; encrypted-media *; fullscreen *\" style=\"width:100%;max-width:660px;overflow:hidden;background:transparent;\" sandbox=\"allow-forms allow-popups allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-storage-access-by-user-activation allow-top-navigation-by-user-activation\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.podcasts.apple.com\/us\/podcast\/how-to-manage-problem-behavior-in-public-school-settings\/id1086413253?i=1000545701091\" height=\"175\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n<p>In this episode, we spend a good chunk of time discussing the impact of the pandemic on student behavior, and why they felt this type of book was necessary to write.
