Session 101: The Ethics of School Consultation with Missy Olive, BCBA-D

Missy Olive joined the show to discuss consulting in the public school setting. In this episode, Missy discussed many topics including school consulting, special education law, disseminating our science within school districts and ethics. Missy also took listener questions about best practice in school consulting, practical advice for current school consultants, and maintaining ethical relationships. Missy also provides advice on how to bridge the gap between ABA providers and staff at the school, district, and state level.

There are 1.5 Type 2 Ethics Continuing Education credits available for participating in this event.

From this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify how to maintain ethical boundaries as a school consultant
  • State different models for delivering services as a school consultant
  • Identify ways to build and maintain relationships with school staff
  • Identify considerations for delivering effective services at the consulting level
  • State methods to address differing school cultures
