In this event, Greg discusses his decision to leave Western New England, re-brand the IISCA to practical functional
assessment (PFA), as well as the BALANCE parent training protocol. Greg discusses how the PFA model also
embodies trauma-informed treatment by explaining the methodology he uses to assess and treat challenging
behavior. He also discusses his new consulting agency, FTF Behavioral Consulting, implementation strategies for
the PFA/SBT (skills-based training) and gives new practitioners tips on utilizing different technologies within the
field and navigating conflicting research. Greg also takes listener questions on applying the PFA/SBT across
different contexts and clients.
Greg cites a number of studies, and instead of listing them out here, I'd rather direct you to the website he's built to
disseminate this work. There, you'll find a list of publications on this topic.
Here's a list of a few other resources:
• The Facebook group for BCBAs Using the IISCA,
• OK, I couldn't help myself, here is a paper that Greg mentioned not found on his site: Van Haaren (2015).
There are 2 BACB Continuing Education credits available for participating in this event.
From this training, participants will be able to:
• Identify and be able to state what PFA is
• Identify skills to develop for new practitioners
• State recent changes in the implementation of IISCA/PFA
• State best practices in the use of the PFA/SBT
• Identify the purpose and methodology of the PFA

2. Purchase the CE. This will require creating an account for first time purchases or logging in for returning
customers.
3. Check your email for a link to a quiz.
